Common conditions we can treat

  • Pre and post natal care (non-internal)
    • Treatment of pregnancy related pain such as neck, back, leg, arm pain
    • Patient education on pregnancy related changes, posture, breathing and pelvic floor
    • Exercises to help alleviate your pain during pregnancy and help with childbirth
    • Hands on treatment such joint mobilization and massage to help alleviate the pain
    • Taping or bracing if need be
  • Postnatal Care (non internal)
    • Patient education on recovery for pelvic floor muscles and abdominals (for rectus diastasis  – abdominal separation)
    • Education on positioning, posture during different activities and lifting & holding your baby properly to help your recovery
    • Exercises to help the recovery of your pelvic floor muscles, abdominals, posture related changes that occurred during pregnancy
    • Taping or bracing if need be
  • Acute injuries
    • Such as ankle sprains, knee sprain, wrist sprain/strain, neck and low back pain
    • Shoulder dislocations, separations
    • Post Fracture care after clearance from doctor
    • Treatment will consist of pain management, exercises and manual therapy to help joint move better when indicated
    • Functional exercises to return to your normal activities
    • **Sprain are when ligaments (attach bone to bone) get overstretched and tear
    • **Strains is when a muscle gets overstretched and tears
  • Running injuries
    • Any injury involving the lower extremity such as: Iliotibial band syndrome, hip impingement, medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints), patella tendinopathy, sprained ankle (the list is not all inclusive)
    • Even upper body pain such as neck and shoulder pain can be caused by your running
    • Assessment will consist of a running gait analysis, walking analysis and body scan to see how you are running, walking and moving
    • Exercises, education, manual therapy, taping will all be provided based on your assessment
  • Sports injuries
    • Any injury related to sporting injury or pain that is made worse with your activity such as sprained ankles, achilles tendinopathy, neck and back injury, rotator cuff strain, shoulder dislocation or separations, elbow pain
  • Chronic/Persistent Pain
    • Chronic/Persistent pain is any pain that last more 3 months. It is can impact your physical, emotional and social well being.
    • Our treatments are individualized as there are many factors that contribute to chronic/persistent pain.

What to expect during assessment/treatment

  • Therapist will ask history of questions and may have you fill out questionnaires to help determine the cause of your pain
  • Therapist will have you go through different movements to see how you are moving or what you can do to help determine the cause of the pain. Therapist will then go through a series of test
  • Therapist will need to place their hands on you during the assessment and treatment so please have tank top and shorts on hand
  • Therapist will be documenting their findings on a tablet during the assessment and treatment
